Prince of tennis (Failure is art if you are robot)

Official music video for Prince of Tennis, 2011: an error in virtual space, personified.

The video explores the idea of what an error in virtual space would look like if it were personified as an animated character. It is a playful interpretation of the journey of a single bit being transported to a place where the error will be fixed and its memory erased so that its capacity can be used again.

Failure Is Art If You're a Robot is a track by the Czech indie electronic/lo-fi project Prince of Tennis. Released as a single with a music video in 2011, it later appeared on their 2012 debut album Urbi and Orbi. The band was formed by David Volenec and Jan Čechtický, prominent figures of the 1990s Czech alternative scene.

Although the animated clip was a great success at art and student shows at the time, within the Apollo Awards it was perceived as the visual part of the nominated album Urbi and Orbi.

Concept, direction & animation: Jan Drozda.
